Healthy Chili Recipe

A nice pot of chili is just the ticket during the cold winter months. This recipe is low in calorie and fat so you could lose weight eating it! How's that for a great bowl of chili? AND it tastes super yummy. Even your kids will like it.

This is what you will need:

1 pound of ground turkey
3 cups of diced onions
One 28-ounce can of diced tomatoes with liquid
Two 15-ounce cans of small red beans
1 cup of chicken broth
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of ground cumin
1 teaspoon of dry oregano
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce

Sauté the onions in a pan sprayed with olive oil until the onions are translucent. Add the ground turkey and brown. I usually add a little garlic salt to the meat while it is browning. Then add all the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to simmer for 25 minutes.

Sometimes I add a little low fat cheese, sliced green onions, and even a bit of low-fat sour cream to make it extra delicious. However, that does add to the calories. Without these additions, its about 175 calories for a 1 cup serving. It makes about 12 cups. It has about 4 grams of fat.
